Peter Joseph Osterhaus Memorial in Koblenz, Germany

Peter Joseph Osterhaus's grave lies in the city cemetery of Koblenz. It is completely unmarked, because the hill where it lay subsided in the 1970's.

The general area of the grave looks like this.
There is a move afoot to create a marker for this distinguished citizen of both Germany and the United States. It will consist of a paved area with a stone, possibly a natural stone, engraved with his name and dates. Attached will be a metal plaque or plaques outlining some of his many accomplishments in both English and German. The city will provide paving and installation; the marker itself will be funded by contributions from admirers of the General.
Work will begin on the marker in early April and will be as elaborate as funds collected by then allow.
