Peter Joseph Osterhaus's grave lies in the city cemetery of Koblenz. It is completely unmarked, because the hill where it lay subsided in the 1970's. |

| The general area of the grave looks like this. |
| There is a move afoot to create a marker for this distinguished citizen of both Germany and the United States. It will consist of a paved area with a stone, possibly a natural stone, engraved with his name and dates. Attached will be a metal plaque or plaques outlining some of his many accomplishments in both English and German. The city will provide paving and installation; the marker itself will be funded by contributions from admirers of the General. |
| Work will begin on the marker in early April and will be as elaborate as funds collected by then allow. |
